Project Management Training Institute (PMTI) was not immune to these effects. However, PMTI has taken extraordinary steps to ensure project managers continue to have the choice of getting high-quality training in an in-person classroom environment with adequate precautions to provide the safety for our students.
While the recommendations can change as the situation improves or otherwise, PMTI has taken the following precautionary measures to ensure your safety and wellbeing:
In-Person class Precautions
Class locations with a record of safety
PMTI has contracted with hotels and hosting facilities that:
Regularly conducts spray or hand sanitizing of classroom facilities
Provides sanitized equipment
Provides seating spaced and disinfected as per CDC guidelines
Masks for Students
All students are provided masks upon request throughout the class schedule
We recommend all students to wear a mask as required by the local government guidelines
Masks or face shields for Instructor
All PMTI instructors are required to wear a mask or face shields. We do not use flat screen separators because they do not move with the instructor
Instructors are asked to maintain adequate distance when communicating with the students
Instructors and PMTI will coordinate with the hotel to ensure a safe environment for our class participants
Instructors are provided resources and guidance for those who teach in-person. PMTI has developed a FAQ for instructors that includes information about teaching while masked, classroom protocols, and other resources
Hand Sanitizers at the Facility
We only host our classes where the hotel provides hand sanitizers throughout the facility
PMTI provides hand sanitizer dispensers in the classroom strictly for PMTI students
Students with special skin conditions are encouraged to bring their own sanitizers
Physical Distancing
With the Alpha COVID-19 variant, a physical distance of 6-8 feet was deemed adequate and safe
However, with COVID Delta variant, PMTI insists that students maintain the physical distance of 6-8 feet with an additional precaution of wearing a mask on all the time when they are in a closed environment
Our class facilities are set up with spacing designed to meet the guidelines from CDC
Leave if you are unwell
According to the experts in the field of vaccination, the symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 are similar to those of common cold, flu, and other respiratory illnesses
So, if you or someone you live with are experiencing any similar symptoms, are high-risk or feel uncomfortable attending an in-person class, we request that you consider excusing yourself from the class for the safety of others. A lot of times, this step is necessary because the other class participants may feel unsafe (such as when someone is coughing or sneezing)
Virtual Classes every week
In order to address the needs of our students who would have otherwise attended in-person classes, we have ramped up our live online PMP course availability significantly. We conduct one or more classes every week
For those in the east coast, south-east, mid-west, or south central, we offer a weekly course that starts at 9:30 EST or 8:30 CST
For the convenience of students from the west coast and in the mountain time zone, we offer classes starting at 8:30 PST
Weekend Classes
With Work from Home (WFM) being the standard today and companies trying to increase productivity and cut costs, getting training during weekdays may not be an option for some students
We offer several weekend classes for PMP certification every month. The course is offered over two consecutive weekends - Saturday, Sunday and the following Saturday, Sunday
Flexibility to switch your classes from Online to Virtual classes
We understand students may not be able to attend the class they scheduled, with changing priorities and situations out of their control
We will gladly assist our students to switch their class from their scheduled dates to any other course, whether in-person or virtual, to dates that are convenient for them. There may be a fee associated with the reschedule. Please call our office at (734) 786-0104 and check with us
Proactive communications with students
PMTI will provide updated information to all our students as the situation changes and as new guidelines evolve from Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Our customer service will communicate with you through email, phone, and chat with updated instructions frequently
Discounts for students who are in between jobs
With COVID-19 throwing a wrench into the career prospects of several project managers, PMTI is extending a massive discount to those in between jobs
We are immensely grateful to everyone for enabling Project Management Training Institute to provide a safe and effective classroom environment. As always, PMTI will closely monitor the conditions of the pandemic, review the guidance from local and national public health experts, and will continue to adjust our policies as needed based on vetted scientific information. With a shared commitment with our students, Project Management Training Institute is confident about continuing to provide the highest quality of certification education to project managers seeking to advance their career with PMP certification.

With the restrictions in test taking facilities at the PearsonVUE test centers, PMI has opened up a huge opportunity to take the exam at your home as a computer-based test. PMTI provides concise and useful guidelines on how to succeed with an at-home computer based testing for our class participants. So, you can take the PMP exam either in the limited PearsonVUE test centers or as a computer based test at your home or work.
