How to start preparing for the PMP Exam?
The sooner you begin preparing for the PMP exam, the better. The exam is fairly demanding; it is recommended that you take courses, either in person or online. - What is the level of difficulty of the PMP exam?

- How many questions does the exam have?
A: The certification exam was updated on January 2, 2021, and now it has exactly 180 questions in total. You have 230 minutes (3 hours 50 minutes) to complete the test, and you get two 10-minute breaks during the exam.
- Is the PMP exam going to be held at the same location as our classes?
A: PMTI provides in-person PMP training in the USA (including Houston & Chicago) and Canada, as well as online PMP certification training. Please note that PMTI does not administer the PMP test; exams are administered by PMI and conducted at PearsonVUE exam centers.
- Can you register and schedule me for the exam?
A: Unfortunately, no. What we can do is provide PMP test application support to our registered students using specific proprietary tools we developed, including optionally reviewing your application. We are unable to legally register or schedule you for the exam since you will be required to agree to PMI legal terms and conditions when registering or scheduling the exam.
- How do I properly prepare for the PMP certification exam?
A: The exam can be quite challenging, so make sure you prepare beforehand by either joining our PMP training or following different online PMP certification courses. To ace the exam you should study the PMP course content, and consistently take available practice tests.
- Where can I find the PMP exam to practice with?
A: Once you enroll in the online PMP certification training, you will have access to numerous resources, books, and available tests that you can use to practice and see whether you’re ready to take the real exam.
- Do you get negative points for wrong answers on the PMP exam?
A: No, there aren’t any negative points. However, it is recommended not to leave any question unanswered even if you’re not completely sure about it.
- Am I still eligible for the PMP certification even though I’m currently unemployed?
A: Yes, being employed is not one of the eligibility requirements for the PMP certification. You need to check the PMP requirements to see if you are eligible for getting certified.
- What happens if I fail the PMP exam?
A: Keep calm, the exam is quite difficult and many candidates fail on their first try. However, you shouldn't let that discourage you, rather use this experience to motivate you and help you succeed the next time.
- How many times can I retake the PMP exam?
A: You can take the exam up to three times within one year from your application approval date. If you fail all those three times then you have to wait one year from the date of the last exam to reapply. Keep in mind that there is a reexamination fee for each time you retake the exam.
- Will my employers know if I failed the PMP exam?
A: No, only the people you choose to tell the result will know since the PMI does not disclose your test history to anyone else but you.
- What to do if my eligibility expires and I have not taken the exam?
A: Your application is eligible for one year after approval. If it expires without you taking the exam then you have to reapply.
